China's New Energy Vehicle Quality Rankings: NIO Ranks 6th, NETA 4th, BYD 3rd!

Data shows that in 2022. the wholesale volume of new energy passenger vehicles in China was 6.498 million units, a year-on-year increase of 96.3%. According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the sales of new energy passenger vehicles in China in 2023 are expected to reach 8.5 million units. While the new energy vehicle market is booming, quality issues have also received widespread attention.

Recently, China Auto Quality Network, China Quality Miles magazine, and China Quality Supervision magazine released the "China Auto Brand Quality Rankings - New Energy". This ranking is based on data from the complaint big data platform of China Auto Quality Network, supplemented by other references and multi-dimensional analysis. According to the ranking data, Chery New Energy has a quality score of 171. which is the average score of the list. Tesla did not reach the average score, with a quality score of 227. Among the new domestic car manufacturers, Li Auto has a quality score of 160; Xpeng Motors and NIO successfully entered the top 10. with quality scores of 136 and 154. respectively.

Feifan Auto, a new energy vehicle brand under SAIC Motor, has a quality score of 134. ranking 5th on the list. Last year, Feifan sold 14.532 units, but the Feifan F7 has now begun large-scale delivery. NETA Auto ranks 4th with a quality score of 129. As the sales champion among new domestic car manufacturers in 2022. NETA's cumulative sales for the year were 152.073 units, with 3.456 units delivered overseas, making it the first new brand in China to exceed 150.000 units in sales.

Tied for third place are BYD and Geometry Auto, both with a quality score of 127. As a leading brand in China's new energy vehicle market, BYD sold 1.8635 million units in 2022. a year-on-year increase of 208.64%, reclaiming the global sales crown for new energy vehicles and maintaining its position as China's top seller of new energy vehicles for ten consecutive years. According to BYD's financial report, its revenue last year exceeded 400 billion yuan, with a net profit attributable to shareholders reaching 16.6 billion yuan.

The quality ranking's first and second places are Aion and Arcfox, with quality scores of 125 and 126. respectively. According to the performance report previously disclosed by GAC Group, Aion's cumulative sales in 2022 were 271.000 units, a year-on-year increase of 126%, surpassing other traditional car manufacturers in the segment. Additionally, in the first three months of this year, Aion's cumulative sales were 80.308 units, a year-on-year increase of 79%.
