Performance Highlights
The biggest upgrade in the 2025 Tang DM-i is its new plug-in hybrid technology, with a significant power boost for both the engine and the electric motor. The model features BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, integrating a highly efficient 1.5Ti engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.3% and the new EHS200 electric hybrid system, enhancing efficiency, power, and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance.

Its fuel efficiency rivals that of compact gasoline sedans, while its power compares favorably with 3.0T engines.
Additionally, all models in the 2025 Tang DM-i lineup come standard with an aluminum multi-link suspension and feature the FSD variable damping suspension system from the start, with higher trims offering the Yun-Nian C intelligent damping body control system.
