On October 11. Denza officially released the first images of the Denza N9. As the flagship SUV of the Denza family, the N9 is a large SUV featuring the latest design language and equipped with advanced technologies such as EasyTurn (Yisanfang) and rear-wheel steering. It even includes features like a fridge, TV, and spacious sofas, positioning it as a competitor to popular models like the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9. The N9 will offer both plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrain options, with an expected official release at the end of 2024.
In terms of exterior design, the new model adopts Denza’s latest design language, with a large, closed-off front grille, an embedded Denza logo, slim headlights on both sides, and dual-layer LED daytime running lights, giving the vehicle a highly recognizable appearance. Additionally, it features C-shaped air vents on both sides and active grille shutters for enhanced cooling.
From the side, the N9 sports a sleek, straight-lined design with flush door handles. With a length of 5.3 meters, recessed door panels, wide fenders, and large multi-spoke wheels, the vehicle exudes a muscular and robust presence.
At the rear, the N9 is equipped with a full-width taillight that extends into the rear fenders, adding a futuristic touch. The C-pillar badges, roof spoiler, hidden rear wipers, and two-tone rear bumper further enhance its modern and stylish look.
The official images also show the vehicle equipped with LiDAR and electronic exterior mirrors, although earlier spy shots suggest these may be optional features.
Interior spy shots reveal the N9 will have an embedded digital instrument cluster, a floating central infotainment screen, and a head-up display (HUD). The dashboard features wood grain and chrome accents, giving the interior a premium feel. According to camouflage hints on the N9’s prototype and comments from Zhao Changjiang, General Manager of Denza Sales, the N9 will be fully equipped with a fridge, TV, sofas, and aviation-style seats.
In terms of power, the N9 will offer two options: an all-electric version with a maximum power output of 710 kW and a plug-in hybrid version with a 2.0T engine and electric motor, producing 152 kW and 640 kW respectively. It will also feature Denza’s EasyTurn system, which allows for independent rear-wheel steering with dual motors, along with air suspension and CDC (Continuous Damping Control).
Thanks to the rear-wheel steering system, the N9 is expected to overcome the handling disadvantages typically associated with a 5.3-meter-long vehicle, achieving a good balance between agility and interior space.
Editor’s Note: Following the success of the Denza D9 and Z9 in the market, Denza is now set to launch the all-new N9. completing its lineup of “9-series” family members. It’s clear that the Denza N9 is aimed at family users, offering six seats, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and conveniences like a fridge, TV, and spacious sofas. Additionally, the N9’s rear-wheel steering is a unique advantage over its competitors in the same class. Given all of this, the potential for the N9 to become a best-seller is very high. The final determining factor will be its market price. If Denza can offer a more affordable price compared to its rivals, I believe the sales will be impressive.
