In terms of dimensions, the new Tang DM-i measures 4.870 mm in length, 1.950 mm in width, and 1.725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2.820 mm, which is consistent with the current Tang DM-i Glory Edition. In terms of power, the new Tang DM-i will adopt BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, powered by a system consisting of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The 1.5T engine has a maximum output of 115 kW, while the electric motor provides a maximum output of 200 kW. Compared to the current Tang DM-i Glory Edition, the engine’s output has increased by 13 kW, and the electric motor’s output has increased by 40 kW. Based on the 2025 Han DM-i, the new Tang DM-i is also expected to come with an 18.316 kWh battery pack.

From the perspective of mid-sized new energy SUVs, the current BYD Tang DM family recorded 11.188 units sold in August, ranking just behind the Song L DM-i, which also belongs to BYD’s Dynasty series, in the plug-in hybrid segment. With this facelift, whether the new BYD Tang DM-i can deliver better energy efficiency, configurations, and other improvements will undoubtedly influence its sales performance.
