According to Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD's Dynasty Sales Division, "highly anticipated" is the most fitting description for the arrival of this new model. In fact, just a while ago, a friend asked me if it would be worth waiting for this car. This is the latest 2025 BYD Han.
Since its launch in 2020. the BYD Han has gone nearly five years without a major facelift, leading many to speculate, "Is it time for a new generation this year? With BYD experiencing a surge in technology and new models, shouldn't there be a new generation?" Unfortunately, the 2025 BYD Han is still not a next-generation model but rather a significant annual refresh.
In terms of appearance, the 2025 BYD Han remains largely unchanged from the current model. It retains the familiar Dragon Face family design at the front, the familiar C-pillar louvered side windows, and the familiar full-width taillights. In short, the design remains the same—"classic and unchanged."
Just like the exterior, the interior also remains the same. There's the familiar 15.6-inch LCD center console and the familiar 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Even the much-anticipated upgrades like the popular 8295 chip are nowhere to be found in the 2025 BYD Han.
So, what has changed? Let’s start small. The 2025 BYD Han will offer a blacked-out sports kit and a new exterior color option, "Weiyang Gray." Interestingly, the hybrid version will adopt the front-end design of the all-electric version.
Moreover, the new Han DM-i will feature the fifth-generation DM technology, powered by a 1.5T engine with a maximum output of 115 kW, and an electric motor with a maximum output of 200 kW. It will also be equipped with BYD's proprietary blade battery made of lithium iron phosphate. Based on the technical specifications of previous models with the fifth-generation DM technology, the fuel economy of the new Han DM-i is expected to be impressive, with a range of 1.000 km on a full tank of fuel.
The most crucial upgrade is that the new BYD Han will come equipped with DiPilot 300 and laser radar. The suspension system will be upgraded to the Cloud Chassis-C and feature a new five-link rear suspension. These improvements are expected to address the previous criticisms of the BYD Han's lackluster smart driving capabilities and weak chassis performance in the 2025 model.
So, here comes the ultimate question: with so many new models being released, would you still choose the 2025 BYD Han? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments, and let’s discuss!
