Recently, we obtained a set of real-life images of the all-new BYD Song L from relevant channels. The new vehicle is positioned as a mid-sized hunting coupe SUV, built on the e3.0 platform. It represents the pinnacle of BYD's Dynasty Network technology. Once launched, it will compete with models like the XPeng G6 and Tesla Model Y, with an expected price range of 200.000 to 250.000 RMB. The car is reportedly set to begin pre-sales at the end of this month, with a market launch planned for mid-to-late November.

In terms of exterior design, although the new model is built on the e3.0 platform, it still adheres to many of the "Dragon Face" design aesthetics. Specifically, the front features a closed grille design, with a vertically textured panel inside that seamlessly integrates with the slim headlamp clusters on both sides. A T-shaped chrome trim decorates the area between the air intakes on both sides, and the details include mesh-styled aerodynamic components. The lower trapezoidal air intake is accentuated by a pronounced front lip, giving the vehicle a more aggressive appearance.

From the side, as a hunting coupe SUV, the new model combines the swooping lines of a coupe, the ground clearance of an SUV, and the elegance of a station wagon. Compared to traditional coupe SUVs, it places more emphasis on interior space. The vehicle is equipped with side cameras, frameless doors, hidden door handles, rear privacy glass, and large wheels. The distinctive roofline fully embodies the aura of a hunting coupe. The vehicle's dimensions measure 4.840 mm in length, 1.950 mm in width, and 1.560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2.930 mm. These dimensions surpass those of the Song PLUS and Song Pro models, placing it on par with the Tang and above the mainstream level among its competitors.

At the rear, the vehicle features a large fixed spoiler above the sloping rear window, integrated with two navigation-style high-mounted brake lights. Below this is an electrically adjustable sporty rear wing, which can be manually deployed or automatically activated at certain speeds, providing over 25 kg of downforce to enhance stability during driving. The through-type taillights adopt a Chinese knot design similar to the Han EV, making them highly recognizable when lit. The C-shaped lines on both sides of the rear bumper incorporate triangular mesh air vents, and a large integrated diffuser at the bottom adds to the vehicle's aggressive stance, subtly hinting at its performance capabilities.

Inside, based on previously leaked images, the overall interior layout of the new model retains a strong family resemblance. However, to highlight the advantages of its platform and its hunting coupe SUV attributes, several noticeable adjustments have been made in the details. While it still features the family's signature floating center console screen and embedded full LCD instrument cluster, the angles and bezels of the screens have been well-optimized for a more harmonious visual effect. Additionally, the position of the air conditioning vents has changed significantly, with the rounded rectangular vertical vents now located below the central screen, though it's unclear whether this will affect airflow. The vehicle also features a diamond-shaped crystal electronic gear lever and a large HUD, adding to its high-end ambiance.

In terms of power, the new model is built on the e3.0 platform and will be equipped with integrated CTB battery and body technology, intelligent electric all-wheel drive, and the Yun-nian system. According to previous information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The all-wheel-drive model features front and rear motors with maximum power outputs of 150 kW and 230 kW, respectively, while the single-motor version has a maximum power output of 230 kW. Depending on the battery capacity, the new model will offer three range options: 550 km, 662 km, and 602 km. In terms of performance, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
