According to the released data, Xiaomi Auto delivered a total of 1.093 vehicles in the 14th week (April 1 - April 7), ranking 9th among new energy vehicle brands. Additionally, in the market ranking of pure electric vehicles priced over 200.000 RMB, Xiaomi Auto successfully made it to the list, ranking 5th with sales of 1.1 thousand units, surpassing both Zhijie and XPeng Motors.
Recently, a small number of users have already received their founder's edition cars, including Azhuo's SU7 MAX founder's edition.
The most crucial step during vehicle pickup is the inspection, which is also our specialty. Since every vehicle undergoes a complete paint inspection before film application, we always brief the owner on the current condition of the paint. This can serve as a reference during your own vehicle inspection.
1. Inspecting the Piano Paint on the Entire Vehicle
The Xiaomi SU7 extensively uses piano paint design elements. The glossy effect of the paint gives the car a more premium feel, complementing the body paint perfectly. However, the downside is that it is prone to scratches and wear, especially since the piano paint components of the SU7 are mostly located at the bottom of the vehicle, making them highly susceptible to damage. After a few days of driving, we noticed some scratches on the rear piano paint parts of Azhuo's SU7.
Therefore, during inspection, check these areas for any severe scratches or damage. If there are very light scratches or swirl marks, it is normal as these are unavoidable due to the nature of piano paint.
2. Inspecting the Headlights
The SU7's front headlights feature a teardrop design, while the rear lights have a halo design. These large-area lights are more likely to be damaged by stones during transportation. We recommend touching the surface of these lights to check for dents during inspection.
When Azhuo picked up his Xiaomi SU7. we did not find any damage in these susceptible areas. However, after a few days of test driving by multiple colleagues, we noticed some new scratches. If you encounter similar scenarios and are particular about your car, it is highly recommended to apply a protective film.
After bringing the Xiaomi SU7 back, we conducted a range test, including highway driving. This could have resulted in a small dent on the front headlight, as higher speeds on highways increase the likelihood of stone impacts. This is difficult to avoid, and over time, scratches on the light surfaces are inevitable. Therefore, we included the front and rear headlights in our standard protective film application project, making it a mandatory item with no additional charge.
Additionally, we found a new scratch on the rear piano paint part. These unknown damages are difficult to trace. Given the fragility of these paint parts, scratches can be very noticeable, and over time, the glossy surface can become dull. The only solution is a protective film, as repeated polishing can wear down the paint. The top coat of the protective film also has a scratch-healing feature, making it resistant to minor scratches.
The Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with LIDAR on the roof. Based on our experience with numerous new energy models, this area should not be covered with a protective film, as it may affect the functionality of the driver assistance system.
